Jason and Kris Wallenta always talked about opening a restaurant. Kris cooked his way through Cozumel and the French Culinary Institute, then opened two restaurants in Mexico. In July 2015 the brothers brought it all home and opened Dos Santos in Denver.

Dos is all in all a great restaurant that my friends and I love, but what always makes it a fantastic experience is our server Dax. He is always so friendly and hilarious and gives us good recommendations on drinks and food. And I’ll continue to come into Dos as long as he is there.

Everything starts with the tacos: tacos on four-inch corn tortillas, from Cujo Taco and Crunchy Beef to the vegetarian Mushroom Boomer. Start with Tinga Chips or a Chopped Salad, then work through the seafood raw bar. There is a rotating sheet of monthly specials too, so ask your server what just landed.
